Electric Make Up Brush Cleaner | Amazon Best Buy

So, as everyone in lockdown, I'm finding things to do when I am not working or doing housework. I purchased this back before we moved house (blog post to come on that)

When sorting out my dressing room I came across the package again and decided to give it a go.

Now I don't know about you, I am horrendous at washing my brushes regularly. Generally choosing to buy new ones instead... bad I know - I am determined to get better at it, especially now I have this little gadget!

I found this one back in April and there are loads to choose from, so I don't think it necessarily needs to be this one specifically as I'm pretty sure they all do a similar job.

It didn't come with makeup brush cleaner but I generally use Johnson's baby shampoo which works a treat and it super cheap, although if you have any suggestions, I'm all ears.

Johnsons, baby shampoo, Makeup Brush Cleaner                make up brush cleaner, water, make up

The product came with 7 adaptors, one of which with 8 sizes in and as yet I haven't come across a brush that hasn't fit one of them. What I will say is, I have been trying to ensure I use one slightly smaller so it holds it tight and doesn't fly out, covering me in dirty soapy water... which definitely didn't happen...

Below are some before and after pictures that I remembered to take and I have to say, I didn't think there would be an issue with the cleaning aspect, but the drying I was extremely impressed with.
The wand has two speeds, the first for cleaning and the second for drying. One thing I have been doing is taking it out of the bowl to use the drying option. (It doesn't say to do this - I just found it helped the drying process)

I am having to clean my flat brushes manually, but with it only being a couple of my massive stash, I don't mind!

I would love to know how you clean your brushes and what you use.

Much Love as always,

Products I Can't Live Without | Lip Balm

Well, I am a horrendously bad blogger aren't i... I will post these every Friday she said... that did not happen... I apologise.

Unfortunately, life happened, which is the case for many people I know. Sometimes you end up in your own little bubble and it takes a while to pop out.

But I'm back... I can hear the applause. Thank you, thank you, you are too kind.

The first product I'm pretty sure I have mentioned MANY times, but it is amazing and my go to. I've got many people onto it over the years too and they still use it now.

Lip Balm, Blog,

Carmex

Whether you go for original or one of the scented versions, you won't be disappointed. I tend to reach for my original or my strawberry ones the most, but I think I have one in every variation now.

I love the pots it comes in, but for ease on the go, the squeeze tubes are definitely a lot easier.

Top Tip! If you leave it in the sun, be careful upon opening as it will melt and you will lose a lot of product super fast!

I also love the little tingle this gives when you put it on... no rude thoughts please...

Korres

I only picked this up a few months ago now as seen in one of my hauls {link} but it's great. I got it in the mango flavour and it smells good enough to eat... don't worry... I won't...

It makes my lips feel super soft, and on those days where I just want variety from my Carmex, this is one of the main ones I gravitate to.

I now want to try as many flavours as possible, but the mango will be a strong fave regardless.

Lush

Lush lip balms have been a firm favourite of mine for many years, but I have to say that Honeytrap is my must have of their collection.

It smells so good you could eat it, but is also super moisturising on your lips.

The only problem I have is that when I have my acrylics on it can be a little bit on a mission to get it out without making holes in the product which really upsets me!

What are your must have lip balms? I'd love to know.

Products I Can't Live Without | Highlighters

Here is my list of highlighters that I love, all from the high street and therefore all within everyone's budget.

highlighters, no.7, make up revolution, MUA, make up, beauty

MUA

I have loved this highlighter for about 4 years now and this must be my 2nd purchase I would bet as it last a long time!

MUA, highlighter, make up, beauty

From MUA, and therefore only £3 this highlighter is in the shade Pink Shimmer and is from the Undress Your Skin range.

It is super pretty and looks amazing. It is my go to, and is always in my make up bag as I know I will reach for this over all my others - as you can see I've already hit pan again!

No.7

This one is in a contour set and contains a matte highlighter. It costs £12.50 for the palette and includes a matte contour colour too and is in the shade medium/dark.

no.7, make up, beauty, highlighters

This is great for when I'm out and about as it comes with a mirror and a contour shade I can use if required.

I have also used the highlighter for eyeshadow when I've been in a pinch.

Make Up Revolution

I've only had this since I received it in my Advent Calendar December just gone. I love the colour although I tend to only use this when I have a tan due to the shade.

Make up revolution, make up, beauty, highlighters

I feel like it is too gold for my skin without one as I am basically transparent, but I know that it looks beaut when I have a bit of colour so I intend to pack this for holidays this year.

Costing only £3 it is super cheap too!

Products I Can't Live Without | Brows

So I'm a massive fan of using pressed powders to do my brows rather than pencils as I prefer the look they give me, plus I find them a lot easier to use!

I thought I'd do a mini review on the products I use now and that I couldn't live without.

Benefit, Younique, MUA, eyebrow, brow, make up, beauty

I used to use a MAC eyeshadow with a 216 Brush, but that was in my make up bag when I lost it and I haven't got round to replacing them yet!

MUA Quad:

MUA, eyebrows, brows, make up, beauty

At the moment the High Street brow set I've been using is the MUA quad.

I really like this set, it comes with two brow shades, a highlight and a wax to set them. It also comes with a tiny brush which you definitely have to get used to using!

Although it's handy as it is double sided, so I use one side for the shadow and the other for the wax if I use it... Which I rarely do to be honest.

There were some dinky tweezers in this set when I brought it... Where they are now however is another question entirely! They weren't very easy to use and although the idea is great that you have everything in one palette, I think I may have got frustrated with them falling out and chucked them into the depths of my room... Oops!

This set is great especially for the price of £3.50.

The shades are really pigmented, the highlight is a nice matte and the wax is great to set them if you need to. I generally don't need to, and if I do, use my brow gel instead as I feel that it's a more natural look on the brows.

Younique Palette 2:

Younique, cocky, eyebrow, brow, make up, beauty

Although this is not packaged as a brow kit, back when Younique didn't have much in the way of brow products, I used 'Cocky' from Palette 2 and haven't looked back.

It's the perfect colour for my brows, and I use my Real Techniques brow brush. Don't get me wrong, for £38 it's probably rather a lot for a brow shade, however, the rest of the colours in this palette are beautiful so it is well worth it.

The colour is super pigmented and is really easy to use for my brows. I love to take this if I'm staying anywhere overnight or getting ready elsewhere as it means I have something for my brows as well as eyeshadows and highlight.

Benefit Gimme Brow:

benefit, gimme brow, brows, eyebrows, make up, beauty

I have two colours of this, to get the best colour for my brows.

I prefer using this to go over the top of what I end up creating with my quad or the Younique palette to set them.

I do like using these products, but I think I'm a powder and brush girl when it comes to my brows unfortunately.

For £16.99 it's great for what it is, and It's perfect if you are in a rush and don't have time to take time on your brows with powder as it fills them in and gives them good definition in half the time.

Products I Can't Live Without | Concealers

To celebrate my 100th published post on my blog I have decided to start a series on my blog of 'Products I can't live without'

I will be posting these once a week on a Friday and hope you guys get involved too. Comment and let me know your favourites or products you can't live without.

Benefit, younique, collection 2000, concealers, make up, beauty

To start, I'm going to do Concealers as that's what I tend to start with when doing my make up routine, however, my posts may not follow this trend going forward, just to warn you!

First Up...

Collection 2000

This is an oldy but a goody... anyone who loves make up will know about this concealer but I couldn't not include it as it's a product I can't live without.

Collection 2000, make up, beauty, concealers

I tend to use this for under eye circles more than anything else, and this is probably the millionth tube I have repurchased.

Retailing for just £3.99 it's super affordable and easy to pick up at most high street stores, such as Boots and Superdrug.

Younique

I have two of the Mineral Touch Skin Perfecting concealers by Younique. One in the shade Scarlet and the other in Organza.

concealers, younique, make up, beauty

younique, concealers, make up, beauty

I tend to use Scarlet for under my eye to brighten and Organza for any blemishes. It is super thick and has insanely good coverage.

Retailing for £23, it may seem expensive, but it is sooo worth it and lasts forever! This can be purchased here

Benefit

I have been using Erase Paste for as long as I have been using concealer. It is a great concealer for pretty much every use you could wish for.

Benefit, concealer, make up, beauty

This isn't as thick as the Younique one but I still like to warm it up a bit on my hand before applying to ensure I get the most from it and don't waste any product.

This retails for £17.50 and can be found online and in stores.

High Street Eye Liners | On A Budget

I've compiled a list of my favourite high street eyeliners at the minute for you all!

Gel Liner

I used to love using Gel liners and haven't used any in a while. I asked Jack to pick me some bits up last weekend as we were going out and he did very well in choosing this.

It's the Rimmel Gel Liner and is only £7.99 which is a bargain.

These Gel Liners last for ages and once you get the knack, are super easy to apply.

I love that they stay on for ages, so are great for a day out or for a night on the town!

It comes with a brush but I actually find it easier to use the Real Techniques Silicone Liner Brush, but each to their own.

No.7 Liquid Liner

This was a back of the drawer review find!

I have a drawer crammed with new products to review and had a look through the other day as I wanted a liquid liner and couldn't find any of my others.

It is a super easy nib to use and gives a nice line, great for a cat eye or winged eye look.

Costing just £8.50 its a great price.

Collection Extreme Pen Liquid Liner

This is one of my all time faves.

I purchased this a while back and this is my 2nd or 3rd re-purchase.

It is just £2.99 and is so easy to use. I love it. It is definitely a staple for any girls make up bag!

For under £3 you can't go wrong really. This would be great for anyone who is afraid of liquid liner to practise with too.

Rimmel Scandaleyes Pencil Liner

This is super cheap and is one of the best pencil liners I have used in a while.

It's really pigmented and doesn't drag on your eye, even if using it on the lid... as long as you remember to sharpen it obviously!

At only £3.99 it's great for anyone on a budget too.

What are you favourite high street eye liners?

Much Love,

Small Make Up Haul

Last week I realised I had run out of a few bits and went into town on a mission to get them all in 15mins and succeeded.

First up, I was coming to the end of one of my Rimmel Wake Me Up foundations, and wanted another one, but stumbled across this instead and I love it!

Make up, blog, beauty

Its the Colour Match foundation, and it's medium coverage with the ability to build, and looks flawless. I picked it up in the shade True Ivory, and was pretty spot on if I do say so myself...

I also picked up this Insta Fix and Matte translucent powder, as I had run out of my usual Rimmel powder and thought this would be good to try out, so far so good! I will get back to you if anything changes...

Next up I picked up the Radiance Brick Bronzer in 001 Light. It's got a slight shimmer and looks beaut! I tend to use this after I have contoured just to give myself a bit of a bronze highlight.

Lastly from Rimmel, I picked up this Scandaleyes Reloaded mascara as I always loved the original so thought I'd give it a go. The brush is different and I'm not sure I'm a massive fan as yet... but I perserve and see what happens...

On the way to the till I found the next few items... I know I know, In and out... but they were on my way, that's my excuse anyway...

These Moxi Eye catchers looked really intriguing, and I am yet to use them. They are cotton buds pre-filled with what I presume is make up remover, to save your make up when you are half way through your face!

If any girl says she does her make up perfect every time... she's lying... don't trust her...

It was the night of my Birthday drinks and I usually have my nails done quite regularly, but have given my nails a rest recently. I came across these House of Holland fake nails, and I love them.
They came with pretty decent glue and I intend to reuse them and ensure I actually take a picture this time as I forgot!
They are a really pretty pinky nude shade and then you obviously have the choice of a bit of sparkle should you so wish.

I saw this mask and had to pick it up as my old housemate used to use these regularly when I lived with her, and I always wanted to try them and never got round to it.
So when I spotted it this time I decided to pick one up to give it a go - I don't know when this will actually happen as I have soooo many to review at the moment..but I promise I will get to it.. Plus I could do with some revitalising!

Last, but by no means least, I picked up this Ecotools Eye brush duo. Simply because you can never have too many brushes and I needed some more fluffy blending brushes.

Once I have got around to using everything properly and for a decent amount of time to ensure I can review it properly I will get back to you.

Obviously except the face mask... I only intend on using this once... Essay over...

Much Love,

Micellar Water - Garnier & No.7

Micellar Water is by no means a new product, but it is one that I forget to use but when I do, I remember just how much I love it.

I have tried quite a few over the years, but I thought I would share my thoughts on my favourite and my least favourite.

MIcellar Water, cleansing, make up, remover,

MIcellar Water, cleansing, make up, remover,

My Fave:

Shock! It's the Garnier Micellar Water which I know is many peoples absolute favourites. The price obviously really helps too. It's really reasonable and is even sold in most Poundshops so there is no excuse for not having it on your dressing table!

My skin also loves this product. It always feels really clean and fresh once I've used it. I go through this like no-ones business!

My not-so-fave:

Unfortunately, this is the No.7 ...... and I was really gutted not to like it.

I love No.7 as a brand and have a lot of products, make up and skincare, but this just didn't like me.

To start with I really got on with this, but now my skin feels really tight after using this, and I don't feel like it cleans my face as well as my Garnier one.

I'm sure loads of people will get on with it much better than me, but I'm not letting mine go to waste. I have been using it to rid my hands and arms from make up when I do my swatches, which it is very good at.

Have you got any that I should try?  Comment below, or contact me on social!

Spectrum Brushes

Back before Christmas, myself and my friend went along to a blogging event and within our goody bag, was this little gem.

Now, as a make up fiend, I owe wayyy too many brushes already. So I was super happy that I was able to smuggle some more into my house - (without Jack asking why I'd brought more when I have so many!)

This is a gorgeous set of Spectrum brushes. I have a few of their brushes from various Birchbox's over the last year or so and love them.

The set came in this cute pink bag, with a silk lining and a zipped pocket.

Inside the bag, are four brushes, in a gorgeous pale violet, with pink and purple ombre bristles. I have also added my most recent Birchbox brush in a gorgeous nude with a cream and pink ombre bristle.

The brushes are super soft and I can't wait to use them. I've kept them clean until writing this post, so as of tomorrow, they are going into my collection and I will use the bag for make up.

These are some of my favourite brushes to use along with the Real Technique brushes, and if you haven't tried any yet, you definitely should.

The set I was given is this one here and is so reasonable at only £24.99!

Much Love,

Matte Smoky Brown Eyes - Urban Decay

Hello Again,

Happy Thursday! Hope you have all had a fantastic day. One more day until the weekend, you can do it!

If you have seen my 'What I got for Christmas' video, you will have seen how lucky I was with my presents. If you haven't, what are you waiting for?

One of my lovely friends brought me the Urban Decay Jean-Michel Basquiat eyeshadow palette, and it is just beautiful.

As an avid fan of the Urban Decay Palettes already, I was super excited to receive this one.

The colours are always super pigmented from Urban Decay which is one of the many reasons I love their palettes.

They are also so easy to blend, which when you are creating a smoky eye, really helps.

I love all the colours in this palette, but my favourite has to be 'Not for Sale'.

To create this look, I have used 'Enigma' on my upper lid and under my brow bone with 'Not for Sale' on my main lid. I have also used it underneath my lower lash line.

I have then taken 'Suckerpunch' to blend into my crease and outer corner of my lid.

I have then taken my Rimmel Scandaleyes black eyeliner to line my eyes, before using Younique's epic lash mascara to finish the look off.

What are your favourite eyeshadow palettes?

Younique Palette 5

I have been after this palette for what feels like forever!

Jack very kindly got it for me this year as part of my stocking at Christmas.

I love the Younique palettes, and already have palette 2 which I use daily, mainly for my brows. The colours are super pigmented, and blend like a dream.

The reason I have been after this palette for so long is mainly these two colours; Vintage and Sarcastic.

Just look at how gorgeous they are!

If you haven't tried any Younique products, I would highly recommend doing so, as pretty much everything I have tried I love.

I can't wait to try more looks with this palette, the colours are amazingly pretty.

Take a look:

Christmas Fun.

I hope you have all had an amazing Christmas filled with fun, laughter and time with your family and friends, after all, that's what it is all about.

I have been obscenely spoilt this year, by friends and family, but especially Jack. He has definitely outdone himself this year and I am so very grateful.

We had Christmas morning at home together, before popping in to see my mum and step dad, before going to Jack's parents to spend the rest of the day with his family.

As our first Christmas spent together, we wanted to make the most of waking up, having a coffee, breakfast and presents.

Boxing Day was spent back at my mums, with my brother and his family, as well as my grandma.

A lot of my presents were Harry Potter related, as per! Everyone knows how much I love Harry Potter, and they did not disappoint! As well as my Harry Potter goodies, I also got some amazing beauty presents.

My friends and family all know me very well, and I received loads of things that I love.

Jack, as mentioned before, went above and beyond. So as well as my stocking goodies, he also got me a rose gold Fit Bit charge 2, and the MacBook Pro I always wanted and that I am currently writing this on now.

Surprise isn't even the word. I was shocked and so so happy. If you read my previous blog 'All I Want for Christmas' I mentioned that I wanted this but knew I would never get it, and he surprised me massively.

I know Christmas isn't about the presents, and It has been so nice spending time with all our family and friends who we don't get to see as often.

I will also be making a video on what I got for Christmas which I am aiming to get up at the weekend.

Much Love As Always,

Tk
