Younique Flawless Four

Ok... as mentioned in a previous post, one of my lovely friends is a Younique presenter and because of this I have access to a lot of pretty amazing make up and skin care.

See my previous blog about their amazing charcoal face mask here

This week It's all about some make up!

I have been using the Mineral Touch Liquid Foundation for a while now, although I only had one shade which was for when I'm tanned (Taffeta) and I haven't got round to tanning for a while so decided to get one for every day having run out of my daily foundation in the shade Velour.
I have a lot of love for this product as it feels sooooo good on your face. Epic coverage without feeling like you're caked.
It's a liquid to matte finish, and you really don't need much product at all, plus It's got a handy pipette included into the design of the bottle which makes application super easy.
If you're anything like me, this comes in handy too as it means you don't end up wasting a load of product on your hand.

This time I also got the foundation brush which has a small indent in the middle of the brush which it says to use with this foundation. I feel this soaked up the product than anything else and I preferred to use it to build the layers up if needed and buff it out, but actually preferred applying with my good ol' beauty blender. The brush is super soft though and I'm going to give it another go with one of my thicker formulated foundations to see if it works better as I'm thinking it may not soak up the product as much.

I also picked up another one of their Touch Mineral Skin Perfecting concealers in Scarlet.
Again, I already had this in Organza, a slightly darker shade but wanted one to use for highlight and under my eyes to brighten. I have fallen in love with it all over again!
It's slightly thicker than you would expect but it's easy to blend and the results speak for themselves. I've seen some people use it to cover tattoos just to show you how much it covers! Insane! And it lasts forever.

Lastly, I decided to pick up their Glorious primer. I ran out of my daily one a while back if I'm honest and just kept forgetting to pick a new one up. I know, I know... super naughty of me!
Now... I don't know about you... But I'm all about packaging, it gives me a similar thrill to that of stationary...
I loved the streamline look of these products all being in black boxes with strong white font. Plus the foundation bottle is a gorgeous frosted glass effect with the writing in black.
However, you will need some scissors near by in order to get into this primer.  I didn't use it for a few days as I kept forgetting and didn't have the time to search around first thing in the am. Although frustrating to open... once opened... it is the nicest feeling primer I've ever used.
I wouldn't be able to say it kept my make up on all day, but I think my skin is as much to blame for that as the product, and once I have got my skin under control I will report back on that. All in all, it's a lovely product and I would recommend it.

I picked these items up in their Flawless Four collection which they are unfortunately no longer running, but keep your eyes peeled on Emma's page as they always have deals going on and I would definitely recommend trying Younique if you haven't already.

I will do another blog post soon on some of my other favourites from Younique as there are some goodens!

My Favourites whilst being ill.

So as you may or may not know, I haven't been very well recently and ultimately had to have surgery.
I figured I could get some blog posts written up whilst I'm laid up recovering as I'm not able to do much else.
It's very frustrating not being able to do anything for yourself and having to listen to your body a lot more with regards to moving around so it's taking a while to do anything!

Leading up to my surgery I had a LOT of baths as they really helped ease the pain I was experiencing.
I love a good bath and after living somewhere that didn't have one, it's been a god send here that we have such a nice bath. I have some faves since moving in but as I'm not allowed to have a bath currently due to my dressings, it's actually been nice to use some of the products I wouldn't have been using due to my love of baths.

One of my favourite ever shower ranges is from Original Source, and I'm sure I'm not alone. I think they smell amazing and leave my body feeling so refreshed. My faves are the lemon and the mint ones out of the ones I've tried although I need to try some more I feel as I love these so much. Are there any you guys recommend?  I am currently using both and have the tiniest amounts left not wanting to completely finish them. Not sure if this has something to do with a need to have closure... I watched an episode of Big Bang yesterday and Amy was trying to rid Sheldon of his closure issue... let's just say it made me think!
If you are the only person on Earth not to have tried them, you really need to. Most supermarkets have these on special offer every now and again. Although a good dupe is the Boots own range, they are pretty good too and are something silly like 70p!

I've also, of course, been loving my Lush stash. I've been sparingly using my unicorn horn bubble bar along with northern lights bath bomb for a super colourful bubbly bath. As with everything lush, it makes your bath look and smell awesome. As soon as I'm allowed a bath again (stupid dressings) I'm getting my Comforter out as it's my absolute favourite and I need that scent in my life!

Beauty wise, I haven't really been using much as I haven't worn make up for a couple of weeks now as being in bed doesn't call for much of a made up face...Although I'm sure those around me would be grateful for a no-make-up-i-woke-up-like-this make up look... But I neither have the time or energy to do that. *chuckle*
I have however, been trying to make sure I moisturise to make sure my skin is still getting some sort of looking after and have been mixing it up between my Simple moisturiser and my Younique one. They are both lovely and make my skin feel gorge. They are both fab because you need the smallest amount and they have lasted me for ages.

I've also been using my Honey lip scrub from Lush as my lips have been rather dry, so I use this and then chuck on some Carmex to help moisturise them too. I'm all about the face moisturisation it seems! I'm usually shocking at remembering, so my face has definitely felt the benefit and is thanking me for it.

The last skin care item I've been using loads is this Simple Kind to Eyes Revitalising roll on. I may or may not have stolen this from my boyfriend... what he doesn't know won't hurt him. The metal ball on this coupled with the moisturiser feels so lovely under your eyes first thing in the morning and really helps me to wake up. Plus, lying around is surprisingly tiring, so I have been using it during the day too.

Lastly, I have been loving my current book of choice. A colleague lent it to me after I'd mentioned loving the film and wanting to read the book. It's taken me a while to pick it up, but while I've been off work I gravitated towards it and am struggling to put it down. I would say regardless if you've seen the film or not, the book is a must read!

If anyone has any ideas of what else I can be doing or any reading  recommendations whilst I'm holed up in bed, I welcome the suggestions with open arms!

Much love

Lush Haul

A few weeks ago I took it upon myself to top up my current Lush box as it was starting to get a bit low... that's my excuse if anyone asks...
Firstly, I picked up my all time favourite bubble bar, The Comforter. It smells amazing! It is packed with Cassis absolute which makes it smell so berrylicious, along with bergamot oil and cypress oil to make it super luxurious. It's a massive bubble bar so it lasts a good few baths. If you haven't tried it, you need this in your life!

Next up, another bubble bar, it is SUPER pretty and it's a fricking Unicorn horn! I feel like this is a cult Lush lover item and I am definitely a lover. As soon as I saw my local store had received a delivery I got down there as soon as I could. It is packed with Neroli and Lavender, but mainly looks sooo amazing.

Next I got two things I'm going to use together. I had seen a video on Insta that my local store had put up and they had named Luxury Dream. It was so stunning, a dark, glittery heaven. So I asked one of the very helpful ladies to get my hands on what they used to make it. Here I have the Blackberry bath bomb and Sunnyside.
Blackberry is filled with Bergamot and Frankincence, whilst Sunnyside is a glitter lovers dream and is what gives it the sparkle as well as being packed with Tangerine, Lemon and Wild Orange Oils.

As soon as I get round to trying this combo I will be sure to stick it on Insta.
Lastly, I was very lucky to receive a free sample of the Plum Rain shower gel. This smells insane. It is filled with real plum juice, sicilian mandarin oil along with carrageenan seaweed to soften your skin. I am honestly in love with this shower gel, it does everything it says on the tin, and leaves my skin smelling and feeling amazing. I will definitely be purchasing this next time I pop in.

What are your favourite Lush products? Let me know.
Much Love,

Younique Charcoal Mask

Ok, so one of my gorgeous friends is a Younique presenter and they have brought out a fab skincare range to add to their already amazing make up range.

She'd asked me to come and try out a few things so she could video them for her Facebook page a few weeks back and I genuinely fell in love with some of them!

One, which I have not shut up about is this mask which I have now purchased because I loved it so much. My mum has also got one as I raved about it all the time and I think she got bored of me yapping on and wanted to see for herself!

So firstly, Emma spritzed my face with their Rose Water which felt very fresh and reminds me of the Caudalie face sprays. This is also very handy for things like sunburn as its very soothing to the skin and has anti-oxidizing properties.

Next , she applied the mask with a brush (which is very important! As if you use your fingers it will start the process automatically!)
The mask itself felt so nice and cool, and it doesn't go tight like most face-masks. I could still talk absolutely fine - which for me is essential... I like a good chat!

Younique say that this bamboo charcoal mask absorbs toxins and impurities while reintroducing oxygen to your skin with a foaming, tingling sensation. The gentle exfoliating properties remove dead skin cells, and tree oils and vitamins help nourish and condition skin and I couldn't agree more. I think it sounds like rice crispies on your face!
Then I just used the soft black flannel she gave me to wipe it all off which was so much easier than I expected.

I've never found a face-mask that does what it claims to do without making my face feel horrible afterwards so this is a breath of fresh air, and knowing that when I purchase anything from Younique I'm helping the Younique foundation with the retreat they have set up for abused women makes me even happier to do so. It's an amazing cause, please follow this link to find out more about how they help the women and what the money spent with their company goes to.

I'm not sure how long my pot will last in all honesty... this will definitely be a re-purchase me thinks!

The gorgeous Emma gives a much better explanation than I do, and if you fancy having a laugh at me, please click on this link to hear more about it and see my first impressions of the mask in this video.

Also if anyone fancies trying it (which I would highly recommend) or any of the other fabulous skin care and make up ... click here.

Much love

Smashbox Goodies

So... it's been a while! But I'm back and have a lot to review!

I took a trip to my local Boots store at the weekend as I hadn't been in since it had its refurb. I love it! They have loads of new brands now including Benefit, Liz Earle, Dior, Smashbox and more. This is also dangerous if you are anything like me... but danger is also fun in my eyes.

I firstly went to the No.7 counter as I'd heard about their Colour Match technology and wanted to find out if it was any good. The lovely assistant, Susie was extremely helpful and I have a lot of products to review in the next few weeks from them.

She then took me over to the Smashbox counter and the lady there, Danni, was equally as lovely. I'd never really tried Smashbox before as it wasn't available anywhere close by so she gave me a few samples to try and I happened to come across the lipsticks. Oops! I found this gorgeous colour, Skinny Jeans, which reminds me of my childhood as I'm pretty sure I had one a similar colour! I had to get it!

It's super moisturising and the colour is definitely build-able. I do think it's a marmite shade, you either love it or you hate it.. I can say I loved it! They also had a darker shade of blue which I'm going to have to try out very soon!

This week I have also tried the other goodies out. I had the BB Water in light/medium and also in medium along with the Under Eye Primer and Eyelid Primer and lastly the Full Exposure Mascara in a mini size.

The BB water wasn't really my shade unfortunately but I think I made it work... 🙈

I used the light/medium as my base and then used the medium one as a bit of contour... because, well... why not?!

I loved the texture of the BB water and think it lasted pretty well. It seemed to give me medium coverage but felt like it could buildable for heavier coverage. It felt really nice on my skin and I didn't even realise I was wearing it.

I used my Benefit tinted lash primer first and then used my mini... which as it's miniature, I love regardless.

I struggle with mascaras anyway and am yet to find a firm favourite as my lashes are sooo small and so by the time I build the lashes they look clumpy because they are crap lashes!
I really like this mascara though and for day to day (when I don't need to build really) it worked well. No clumps and no fall out. Winning!

Lastly was the under eye primer and eyelid primer. Both were interesting consistencies... I really liked the under eye primer and even more so because it's not something I have really come across before. I needed the tiniest bit so this would last for ages! I feel like it did help keep my concealer on really well, more so than if I hadn't have used it.
The eyelid primer I feel does work really well but I'm going to keep using it to see how I feel as currently it hasn't taken over my long running love, Primer Potion from Urban Decay.

Over all, I really enjoyed using the products here and will definitely be purchasing the full size BB water and obviously will be trying some more products.

Thanks again to Danni in Tunbridge Wells for the opportunity to try these out. I will definitely see you soon!

Much love

I Love New Things!

So after a very expensive month being December what with Christmas and New Years Eve I haven't been able to get everything I need this month so far... When I say need... I definitely mean want...

However! I have managed to pick up a few new products that I'm excited to start using!

Firstly, I genuinely did need a new liquid eyeliner... Mine had started to make my eyes sting which is never good!
I picked up this one from Soap and Glory. It's the Super Cat in Carbon Black and was a steal at £6!
I wore this when I went to my friends wedding reception at the weekend and I loved how easy it was to apply. It glides so smoothly over my eyelid and was super easy to do a cat eye.

Next up I picked up a couple of Lush products after being recommended them on Twitter by my local store.
Everyone knows how much I rate their Lip Scrubs having loved the Bubblegum flavoured one for a couple of years now.
So I picked up the new flavour, 'The Kiss' and it smells soooo good!
It's very sweet like the Bubblegum one but in a slightly different way, it's hard to describe!

I also picked up the 'Honey Trap' lip balm  as recommended by them following my blog about High Street Lip Balms. This again smells amazing!
Can't wait to start using it!

Lastly, I brought some MAC lipstick, because a girl has got to treat herself every now and again.

I actually brought these from a friend who had purchased the wrong colour and didn't use them, but had lost her receipt to return them. Perfect for me though!
It's from the Amplified line in the shade 'Impassioned' and is a gorgeous pinky red. I also picked up a lip liner to go with it which is in the shade 'Dynamo'.
I'm loving these together and intend to use this a lot over the coming months. Including my Birthday as it is Valentines Day and I think this is the perfect Valentines colour.

I also recently purchased a couple of quad palettes to transfer some of my potted MAC shadows into to make it easier to take round with me.

At the same time I brought a shadow to go straight in and went with 'Naked Lunch'.
It's a gorgeous neutrally champagney shade and I've been wearing it a lot! It's definitely become my go to shade for day time along with using it to highlight under my brow with a night time look.

Have you brought any new products recently? Any recommendations?

Much Love,

Lush Loving 💜

Hi guys, so I said I was going to do a Lush review of a few products I've recently purchased. I got a gift card for my Birthday this year and wanted to try a few new things with it so this is what I got.

Facemasks:

I picked up two of the fresh facemasks, Cupcake and Catastrophic as I like what they said they could do to help my skin, plus they smelt really good.
After using them both, (hideous pictures below to amuse you!)

I have to say that I definately prefer the Cupcake one. I just feel that I could see the benefits more with it, plus it didnt make my skin feel dry.
This is definately a re-purchase!
However, my mum preferred Catasrophe so used it up for me!

Lips:

I went to Australia in January for my friends wedding and was going to miss her hen do so I thought I would buy her a few Lush products to soften the blow as I was Maid of Honour... I popped in quickly as I had 5 minutes before leaving for the airport.
I've always loved Lush lip balms as they smell amazing but had never tried the lip scrubs. I had a very helpful sales lady and she showed me the bubblegum flavour and the popcorn flavour. I decided on the pretty pink bubblegum one as thought my friend would prefer this.
For anyone who hasnt tried the scrubs, you basically rub it on and then lick it off!
I was in Oz for 3 weeks, and between us, we nearly used it up! Fair to say I brought one for myself as soon as I could! I am still loving it now, although am using it less regularly than I did in Oz otherwise I would be constantly be buying it. I think it really does the job as well as tasting amazing and it is definatley one to try!

Bath Stuff:

I have been buying a lot of bath bombs and bubble bars recently but the product that have really stuck in my mind has been the Comforter.
I really enjoyed using this as it wasnt just one use, I just kept breaking bits off to use as and when, and I loved this because I hate using things up straight away with just one bath especially if I like them!

What are your favourite Lush products at the moment?

Much Love
