My Favourites whilst being ill.

So as you may or may not know, I haven't been very well recently and ultimately had to have surgery.
I figured I could get some blog posts written up whilst I'm laid up recovering as I'm not able to do much else.
It's very frustrating not being able to do anything for yourself and having to listen to your body a lot more with regards to moving around so it's taking a while to do anything!

Leading up to my surgery I had a LOT of baths as they really helped ease the pain I was experiencing.
I love a good bath and after living somewhere that didn't have one, it's been a god send here that we have such a nice bath. I have some faves since moving in but as I'm not allowed to have a bath currently due to my dressings, it's actually been nice to use some of the products I wouldn't have been using due to my love of baths.

One of my favourite ever shower ranges is from Original Source, and I'm sure I'm not alone. I think they smell amazing and leave my body feeling so refreshed. My faves are the lemon and the mint ones out of the ones I've tried although I need to try some more I feel as I love these so much. Are there any you guys recommend?  I am currently using both and have the tiniest amounts left not wanting to completely finish them. Not sure if this has something to do with a need to have closure... I watched an episode of Big Bang yesterday and Amy was trying to rid Sheldon of his closure issue... let's just say it made me think!
If you are the only person on Earth not to have tried them, you really need to. Most supermarkets have these on special offer every now and again. Although a good dupe is the Boots own range, they are pretty good too and are something silly like 70p!

I've also, of course, been loving my Lush stash. I've been sparingly using my unicorn horn bubble bar along with northern lights bath bomb for a super colourful bubbly bath. As with everything lush, it makes your bath look and smell awesome. As soon as I'm allowed a bath again (stupid dressings) I'm getting my Comforter out as it's my absolute favourite and I need that scent in my life!

Beauty wise, I haven't really been using much as I haven't worn make up for a couple of weeks now as being in bed doesn't call for much of a made up face...Although I'm sure those around me would be grateful for a no-make-up-i-woke-up-like-this make up look... But I neither have the time or energy to do that. *chuckle*
I have however, been trying to make sure I moisturise to make sure my skin is still getting some sort of looking after and have been mixing it up between my Simple moisturiser and my Younique one. They are both lovely and make my skin feel gorge. They are both fab because you need the smallest amount and they have lasted me for ages.

I've also been using my Honey lip scrub from Lush as my lips have been rather dry, so I use this and then chuck on some Carmex to help moisturise them too. I'm all about the face moisturisation it seems! I'm usually shocking at remembering, so my face has definitely felt the benefit and is thanking me for it.

The last skin care item I've been using loads is this Simple Kind to Eyes Revitalising roll on. I may or may not have stolen this from my boyfriend... what he doesn't know won't hurt him. The metal ball on this coupled with the moisturiser feels so lovely under your eyes first thing in the morning and really helps me to wake up. Plus, lying around is surprisingly tiring, so I have been using it during the day too.

Lastly, I have been loving my current book of choice. A colleague lent it to me after I'd mentioned loving the film and wanting to read the book. It's taken me a while to pick it up, but while I've been off work I gravitated towards it and am struggling to put it down. I would say regardless if you've seen the film or not, the book is a must read!

If anyone has any ideas of what else I can be doing or any reading  recommendations whilst I'm holed up in bed, I welcome the suggestions with open arms!

Much love

Lush blogger event

A few weeks ago I was very kindly invited to Lush Tunbridge Wells for their blogger event to have a sneaky peek at the new Mother Day range. (sorry this is late- who knew how long and exhausting moving was!)

I wasn't sure what to expect as it was my first, but everyone was super welcoming.
We got split into two groups and first off my group were shown the new products. We were given demos on each one, and able to take all the pics we wanted as well as try them if we wanted.

My absolute faves were the Scrubee moisturising bar, Honey Lip Scrub and Mum bath bomb.

The Scrubee literally smells like heaven, I can't tell you how good it smells. It has honey and cocoa butter in it and oh em gee it's delish! One of the girls tried it and her skin felt amazing. Definitely one to try out, plus it's super cute!

The Mum bath bomb was the first we saw and smells super citrusy, very fresh without being overpowering. Plus a perfect gift for Mums who love a bit of relaxation!

Lastly, the Honey lip scrub. Now, I love a good Lush lip scrub as much as the next person and have made many friends and family avid lovers also. This is by far my favourite. It genuinely smells of honey and it makes me super happy that once I use it to get my lips super smooth I get to lick it off!
I had to purchase one of these as I couldn't have left without it!

Once the demos were done, we had some fruit iced tea and a gorgeous cake made by a local cafe 'Souper Juice'. Just look at it! All the glitter!!! (To be honest... I originally thought it was a Lush soap!)
Whilst we all munched away we got to watch a video of where Lush get their almonds from and also found out that what they don't use in products gets used to make bio fuel. Every little helps and all that jazz!

Back into our groups again and now we got to make our very own facial cleanser, Angels on Bare Skin.

We all took it in turns to add and mix the ingredients wearing extremely snazzy blue gloves 😂
And the cluts that I am got one of the ingredients, Kaolin all over me... which typically is basically a white powder!
We then got to draw our very own lush cartoon person and label it up as they would do when packaging the products.

Overall it was an amazing experience, the girls in lush were super lovely, as were the rest of the bloggers invited and I can't wait for the next one!

Click here for a short video on the evening. It also shows how the bubble bars and bombs look when mixed with water.

Much love

What I have been Loving over the last few months.

So having been absent from my blog AGAIN! Who said that work and life could get in the way? I definitely do not like this arrangement!
I decided I would use my precious spare time wisely and tell you what I've been loving recently.

Make Up:

I'm loving my brow kit from MUA, having rediscovered it recently at the back of my draw. I love that although it's cheap it does what it says on the tin!

I'm also loving my Garnier roll on concealer for under my eyes. The metal ball applicator is so refreshing, especially in the morning and helps me wake up!

I've also been loving my MAC eye shadows after using my MUA palette for so long it was nice to have a play. In particular I've been using Quarry as a go to shade for my lid and then I tend to use       Twink to blend into the crease.

Skin Care:

Skin wise I'm really naughty and don't look after it anywhere near as much as I should do!
I have been trying to at least moisturise though and have been loving this Simple one. It sinks in really nicely and my skin seems to love it!

Hair Care:

I've recently repurchased some of the Texturising spray I love from VO5. It's cheap but does an amazing job on my hair plus it smells good!

Perfume:

I tend to switch it up with my perfume but have been reaching for my Beyoncé Heat perfume soooo much that I don't have much left. It's such a nice fragrance and one that I will definitely be repurchasing when I run out. My best friend got it for me mainly because she knew I would like the packaging! She did good!

Fashion:

I have been loving my new necklace from George at Asda. I spotted it weeks ago but couldn't justify spending the money on it when I have so many already and when I popped in recently it was half price, and therefore I decided, it was meant to be! :)

App:

Buzz feed... I genuinely think I am a little addicted... I find myself scanning every spare minute I have and have now subscribed to the You Tube channels too just to ensure I get my fill. I have a lot of love for it! Can any of you recommend any particular threads I should check out?

What are you loving at the moment?

Much Love,
