For now...

peg board, harry potter, Dumbledore, quote,

This is so true, and as you know Harry Potter is one of my most favourite things in the world. (Blog coming soon from a whole HP day we had a few weeks ago)

So my last blog was in July... although my radio silence has only really been on here, I haven't shared everything on my Instagram or Facebook pages.

If you don't follow me on social media, in September 2018 I went on a family holiday to Turkey and Jack proposed.

Amazing news right?

I thought so too.

We had a great holiday and I was on such a massive high that I was not prepared for what was coming next.

The week after we returned, after celebratory drinks, meals and such, I returned to work. The day-to-day normality of my life seemed to hit me like a truck.

I spiralled downwards and this led to me being signed off work for nearly 3 months.

During that 3 months, I didn't want to do anything or see anyone. Bed was my friend... (luckily we have an awesome bed!)

I don't remember much through out this time as I think my mind has blocked most of it out as a blur of Drs appointments, counselling, medication changes and more.

Jack was my rock through out this period, as were my family and his. I know it is so hard being supportive when nothing makes sense and when it is all so confusing, but they all did a great job.

Work were amazing and really helped me by asking me how they could help me come back to work without forcing any pressure onto me.

I went back to work mid December on a phased return, meaning that I worked two half days a week, increasing this week by week.
This really helped me have something to focus on, without putting too much pressure on myself.

I finally went back to work full time late February, which seems like forever ago, but having a job I love really helped me and my mental health.

Were now 4 and a bit months on from going back full time, and I'm not going to sit here and say to you that I'm all better, that would be a lie, and I don't think anyone with mental health problems would ever be able to say that, but it's a lot more manageable.

I am on strong ass tablets daily, and my body definitely knows when I haven't taken it. It helps and I don't want to be on them forever, but for now, it's what I need.

Being able to manage my bad days is getting easier, especially with the help of a couple of good friends who also have similar issues. We help each other rationalise our mind farts.

So, for now... I'm ok. I'm getting into wedding planning, have finally finished my CIM course after having to defer it whilst I was off, and am feeling more and more confident in my job role.

Hope you are all well, and I will be posting a lot of what I have been up to over the last few months.

Much Love,

New Make Up Brushes

So... You may have seen my first video (eeeeeek!), which is why you are here, or you may have just stumbled across this post due to your similar love to all things beauty, especially when it includes amazingly gorgeous new make up brushes.

Very few things give me as much pleasure in my tiny black heart as new make up brushes. The feel of them, the smell, the nice clean bristles...

My first set came from my lovely Grandma. I had asked for new brushes for Christmas as most of mine were dying a horrible foundation covered death. I have to admit, I didn't think she had got them for me having no presents that were box shape!

She then presented me with this bag. It has the most gorgeous peach shade tissue paper covering this box which was wrapped up in a personalised ribbon- Amazing in itself...

Then I opened the box and was greeted with a set or three of the original Real Technique's brushes... but the best bit... the larger brushes are engraved with my frickin name!

OMG/Shut UP! and all that malarkey...

As a girl with a rather unusual name, as you can imagine, I found it rather difficult finding anything with my name on as a kid. So whenever anyone gets me anything personalised I am so so grateful.
So to have been given personalised make up brushes was the ultimate personalised gift!

I really enjoy blogging and need to make more time for it, however, I wanted to show these off in video but have been too scared to film until now. So I have been waiting to use them since Christmas and it's been killing me.

The second set of brushes I received were from my friend Emma who I have mentioned before. She knows I'm a massive Harry Potter fan and so picked these beauts up for me for my Birthday.
They are rose gold wand brushes and are actually quite heavy! I've only had these a month or so, so it hasn't been as long for me to wait to use them.

Any other make up brush fiends out there, please send me info for any other amazingly stunning make up brushes that I can look at for a year or so?! Would be very grateful.

Much Love,

Tklou xx

What I have been loving.

As I haven't posted I a while I thought that my first post back should be What I have been loving in the last few months.

First up is this Champneys set I got for Christmas. I always end up with loads of bath stuff at Christmas and have the year to use it all up before I get more again!
There is a comforting bath milk which is sweet almond oil, wheat germ extract and chamomile extract and a shower gel which is coconut oil and nourishing proteins, both smell Delicious!
As you can see, I'm nearly out of these! My only gripe is with the bath milk's packaging, the inside of the lid has broken off just by me trying to screw the lid back on so now is uneven and just hanging on the top... not a fan!

Next up is this Calvin Klein lipstick in the shade Truth. I think this is a really pretty pinky/corally colour and is well pigmented. It stays put really well and is relatively moisturising on the lips, Plus they are so affordable!

This hair oil by Schwarzkopf I've been loving for a long time, but completely forgot I had it until a month or two ago. I use the tiniest bit on the tips of my fingers to just go through the ends of my hair once I've finished styling it.

The last beauty product Is this gorgeous palette from Revolution, the Iconic 1. The colours are fab and range from smoky to neutral with some nice in between shades. You only get 2 Matte shades, one neutral and the other is a plum colour. The rest are Shimmery and for £4 It's amazing value. They are really easy to blend and the shimmery ones don't leave you with too much fall out. I've been reaching for this more often than anything else.

A few non beauty things I've been loving...

This one is slightly random, but I love this squash! I don't really like squash usually but brought this to get my water intake up as I don't like water (unless it's really hot or I'm ill!) and it's really nice. Plus it's sugar free, win win!

This scarf I got from Primark and I Love it so much! I think it's kind of preppy and can go with most things. I love that it's big enough to look cosy but not too big that it feels like you have a blanket around your neck!

The TV series I've been loving is The Vampire Diaries. When I find something I love, I go hard or go home. And I managed to smash out the first 5 seasons of this within about 5/6 weeks. I love it!!! Now I just need to find season 6 somewhere as I missed the beginning of it on TV.

Lastly, I've been loving my Harry Potter items... I got this time turner key ring when I visited back in January (blog to come!) and found it when I moved recently so popped it onto my keys. Also my lovely friend brought me the time turner necklace for my birthday in February.

What have you been loving recently?

Much Love,
