Hey guys,
Fair warning! This is quite a picture heavy post, but we had such a good day and it was so much fun!
So, last Monday, me and my mum went up to London from where we live in Kent for my Christmas pressie treat.
Every year my lovely mum and step dad give me a present that involves a London trip to see a show, and me and my mum get to go together which is so lovely as I'm sure you know how hard it is to fit time in for quality time as you get older.
We caught the train up about 3pm and had a catch up on the train and it was actually quite a nice day for once!
Mum has booked a table for us at Prezzo and she'd managed to find a voucher which meant it was a bargain meal. On the way we found a Whole Foods, and oh em geeee, I want one in Kent! It has such awesome stuff in it, I wanted to try everything. I settled for this dark chocolate as I've got really into it recently and it was immense. We had three courses at Prezzo, sharing the starter and the desert so we didn't feel too full up.
We had crab cakes with lemon mayo to start, we both then had pizza. I had the Tire Gusti (all the meat) and my mum had a pepperoni and chilli one. Then we shared Tiramisu as neither of us had eaten it for ages, with an espresso martini to share also.
The food was amazing although the espresso Martini could have been stirred a bit more as all the alcohol was at the bottom...!
I love the architecture in London and could spend all day taking pictures of it all. This was a cute archway in between a couple of buildings opposite the Prezzo we were at. How pretty!
Then we headed over on the tube to Regents Park for the main attraction, Jesus Christ Superstar in the Open Air Theatre there. Wow, just wow. I had never been to Regent's Park before and I thought it was beautiful, but the Open Air Theatre was something else. The staff were all friendly and helpful which definitely helps, and something that makes a real difference to me. It was stunning inside, gorgeous fairy lights in the trees, a cute picnic area with a BBQ that we wished we'd known about!
When we got inside, it was much bigger than I expected and my Mum had got us awesome seats. We were second row and could see everything.
We were super lucky with the weather too! As it was open air we were obviously a little concerned, as it goes ahead regardless. At the start of the second act it started spitting for about 2/3minutes, then luckily stopped again.
The actors were all amazing and had insane voices! I would say if you love Theatre it is definitely a must see. The effects and how they utilised the staging was incredible and I think seeing it inside a theatre would have given it a completely different outlook.
We absolutely loved it!
Unfortunately, no pictures are allowed during the show, although I actually think this is a good thing as it means you actually see everything. So for pictures of the show click here to see the Theatre's pictures..
As Always,
Much Love,
T xx
